Coaching Staff

Keelan Kirshen

Head Coach

Keelan Kirshen, Head Coach: Keelan joined MCST as a swimmer when he was 10 years old and is now in his 22nd year coaching for the team. His swimming experience includes time with MCST, the Concord-Pleasant Hill Swim Team, the Walnut Creek Aquabears, and Diablo Valley College. He graduated from Berean Christian High School in 1990 and St. Mary’s College in 1994. He has been a history and P.E. teacher at the Martinez Junior High School since 1996.

Rene Fleming

Assistant Coach

Rene Fleming, Assistant Coach: Rene Joined MCST when she started swimming the age of ten and is now in her seventh year of coaching for MCST. She was a varsity swimmer and water polo player at Alhambra High School where she graduated from in 2005. Rene attended St. Mary’s College and Samuel Merritt College to earn her BS. in Nursing in 2009. She currently works at the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Labor and Delivery.

Chris Cline

Assistant Coach

Chris Cline, Assistant Coach: Chris joined MCST when he started swimming at the age of 15 and he is in his fifth year coaching for MCST. Chris was a varsity swimmer and water polo player at Alhambra High School where he graduated from in 2004. His swimming experience also includes the Walnut Creek Aquabears and Diablo Valley College. He attends California State East Bay and plans to graduate with a B.S. in Kinesiology in 2011.

Meghan Bailey

Assistant Coach

Meghan Bailey, Assistant Coach: Meghan joined MCST when she started swimming at the age of five and is in her first year coaching for MCST. Meghan was a varsity swimmer and water polo player at Alhambra High School where she graduated from in 2003. She attended U.C. Davis and graduated in 2007 and then earned a teaching credential in 2009 from St. Mary’s College.

Danielle Liberty

Assistant Coach

Danielle Liberty, Assistant Coach: Danielle first joined MCST when she started swimming at the age of five and is in her second year coaching for MCST. Danielle was a varsity swimmer and water polo player at Alhambra High School where she graduated from in 2004. She attended U.C. Davis and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2008. She plans to return to school to earn a nursing degree in the near future.
